Abstract In this paper, the status and development of solar cell are reviewed first the structure of solar cell, the principle of photovoltaic effect and the electrical parameters of solar cell are all introduced simply. Due to CdS/CdTe is a kind of new, high-efficiency and low cost solar cell. I focus on the CdS/CdTe type film solar cells. To know the CdS/CdTe film solar cell better. The fabrication methods of CdS/CdTe are reviewed mainly. At the same time, I introduce the characteristic and the blemish in this solar cell .
