求職信不要一開始就用錯了提及性別的稱呼，比如“先生”。事實上，最好避免使用針對不同性別的稱呼，這樣不合適宜，甚至可能冒犯了那些不屬於這一稱呼的人。

英文求職信格式與中文是不同的，在寫作的時候，除了要注意語法之外，最重要的就是格式了：英文求職信的格式一般由五個組成部分：寫信動機，自我介紹，能力(技能)介紹，結尾與附件.

3：能力(技能)介紹部分：如果缺乏求職經歷，可以將社會求職細節放在求職經歷中，這樣會填補求職經驗少的缺陷.比如，在做團支書，學生會主席等社會求職時組織過什麼活動，聯絡過什麼事，參與過什麼都可以一一羅列.
4：結尾：求職信的結尾，應注意表達，珍惜求職機會與如果得到職位後將不遺餘力的表現決心，希望招聘單位給予自己施展才華的機會等.另外，不要忘了註明正熱切盼望僱主的回覆.
5：附件：畢業證書，資格證書，獲獎證明應列好表單，附於求職信後.需要注意的是英文求職信的附件是很重要的.
