春節時間
小年
即農曆臘月二十三日送竈王爺上天（把供奉的竈王畫火化），向玉皇大帝報告他所在的一家，在過去一年的表現。爲了讓竈王爺說好話，要供奉糖瓜，送行時還要用糖糊在他嘴上，讓他上天言好事。到除夕再把竈王迎回來，就是請（買）一張新的竈王畫（畫上畫有竈王爺和他的太太竈王奶）供在廚房。畫的兩側通常貼一副對聯：上天言好事，回宮降吉祥。橫批：一家之主。
大年
從臘月最末一天開始，一直到正月三十或二月初二（龍擡頭）。
從陽曆看，春節在1月21日至2月20日遊動。
北京地區：從臘月初八（過了臘八就是年）直到農曆二月二（龍擡頭），年纔算過完。
春節意義
春節一般指除夕和正月初一。但在民間，傳統意義上的春節是指從臘月初八的臘祭或臘月二十三或二十四的祭竈，一直到正月十五，其中以除夕和正月初一爲高潮。在春節期間，我國的`漢族和很多少數民族都要舉行各種活動以示慶祝。這些活動均以祭祀神佛、祭奠祖先、除舊佈新、迎禧接福、祈求豐年爲主要內容。活動豐富多彩，帶有濃郁的民族特色。

春節壓歲錢的由來
