3. 益處，即強調考研對你的未來的積極影響(have a positive effect on…)，可以從求職、職業規劃、人生經歷等方面入手進行說明。可參考的詞彙、短語如下：be helpful, contribute to, be beneficial to, be conductive to, be a definite advantage, become a strong point when it comes to… 等等。
對於那些在職考生或有工作經驗的考生來說，考官樂於知道他們為什麼(放棄工作而)重新學習。考生可以直言在工作發現某些知識或技能很重要，希望能通過學習在這些方面進行提高，例如：In my work, I found … is rather important. I always believe that one will easily lag behind unless he keeps on learning. So I choose to go back to school and improve myself。
然後，可以在自我介紹中展現自己對未來的規劃，其目的在於向老師們展示自己對時間、學習、人生有一定計劃性和掌控能力。參考回答：I plan to concentrate on study and research in this field in my graduate time. And I hope I can form a systematic view of ... and make a solid foundation for future profession after three years study here. After graduation. I would like to work as a .... I hope that in five years after graduation, I can....
